All about the stifle
Conditions in the stifle joint is a common orthopedic problem in dogs. Successful treatment of these conditions is based on the ability to correctly diagnose the condition, select and perform the appropriate treatment, and manage the patient postoperatively.
This course will provide up-to-date information on the etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of a variety of knee conditions.
Lectures and labs will emphasize techniques that can readily be performed in practice. Participants will learn how to differentiate partial versus complete tears of the CrCL. The course will include sections on stifle extracapsular repair, TPLO, treatment of meniscal tears and meniscal release using the latest technology and surgical technique.
The course will also review diagnostic and treatment of patella luxation.
Following lecture and case review, participants will perform all these different techniques on cadavers and plastic bone models.
Postoperative management will also be discussed.
The first day of the event will be totally focused on MPL in Small & Large Breed Dogs, Tibial Tuberosity Transposition, Trochlear Groove Recession, Medial Release Incision & Lateral Imbrication.
The Second day is dedicated to Extracapsular CrCl repair and Concept of Isometry Site for CrCL Repair.
The third day is going to be fully dedicated to TPLO procedure, allowing the surgeons to know more in deep the 3 hot topics to know: Indications & principles , Planning and Technique.
