This course will review the physiologic processes involved in tooth movement. It will then cover the most common malocclusions found in dogs and cats as well as the techniques employed to correct them. During the course, the student will be exposed to the use of incline planes, acrylic extensions, universal screws, W wires, labial bars, buttons, brackets, and elastic chains. During the labs, one will learn to build those various appliances.
Course goal: To make one cognisant of the common malocclusions and to know how to correct them.
Practical/interactive procedures: Fabrication of incline plane, extension, labial bar, active appliance, and more.
